In these large, life-sized paintings, I reflect on the complexities of our human relationships — the small, private struggles we each experience, often as momentous challenges. It is in these layered, sometimes fraught, sometimes fleeting moments that we as individuals, act and react, making the choices that ultimately affect the course of a society. The scenes and characters in the paintings come from my imagination. They are created from moments lived, observed, remembered or envisioned.
