Pandemic Paintings

Oil on Canvas

12 x 12 in./ 30 x 30 cm

2020

During the Pandemic, as I working daily in front of my window lined with houseplants, listening to news update after news update, I became enamored of the play of sunlight on the curtains.

The setting struck me as a metaphor for the distancing and masking of the Pandemic experience. The plants are hidden, or occasionally revealed; their shadows on the curtains providing a hint of their (masked) presence.
