Memory's Witness

We fill the craters left by the bombs.
And once again we sing,
And once again we sow
The force of life never surrenders.

~Vietnamese Song, Anonymous

The persistence of war affects our lives daily - if not directly, then indirectly, often imperceptibly. No matter how much we dream of peace, war persists. This leads me to conclude that war is a part of humanity, a part of our collective soul.

I conceived this suite of six prints as a narrative: from a harmonious Eden, through threat of attack, devastation of war, grief, mourning and, finally, regeneration.
