In these large, full-colour paintings, I explore the experience of human relationships - both the poignant moments and the confusing grey areas. The paintings are created from my imagination and contemplation of the world around me. The stories are those we live daily – the small, private struggles that we each experience, often as momentous challenges. It is in these fleeting moments that we, as individuals, act and react, making the choices that ultimately affect the course of society.

Central to the work is a consciousness of the communicative power of
abstract composition. Colour, line and form communicate with the viewer as readily
as the imagery itself. These compositional elements, inherent to the paintings,
convey layers of nuance and counterpoint.
Each viewer naturally interprets an image based on her or his own personal
history and perspective. The implied narratives, familiar yet inconclusive, encourage
individual interpretation. The scale of the work draws the viewer into the painting's
space, creating immediacy and identification.
Overall, my artistic practice addresses the infinitely unique, yet ultimately
universal, human experience. These paintings are meant as a reflection on our
modern lives, our small yet ever crucial moment in the continuum of human
existence.
